We at Ventura Eco Xtreme, along with the rest of California, are very concerned about the prolonged drought in our state.  Being as environmentally conscious as we can, the race will go on!

In an effort to conserve water, we will not be providing showers to post-race participants this year.  We are also making several other changes in an effort to conserve as much water as possible.  We are lining the bottom of the mud-pits with plastic to ensure as minimal water absorption during the race as possible (however, we will still have lots of Mud!!).  When the race is over, the water will be used for the surrounding plants and environment and the plastic removed.  It's more work but well worth the continuing efforts of providing scholarship money through the Dee Dowell Scholarship Program.

The water provided will be recycled water that is safe for human and plant contact. This water is usually wasted after use and will not affect any reservoir or well. We will be using water donated by our Starting-line Sponsor, Puretec Industrial Water, to fill the mud-pits.  Without the generosity of Puretec, and our other Sponsor's the race would not happen, THANK YOU PURETEC! www.puretecwater.com

We look forward to seeing all of your muddy faces on race-day!
